"Do You Remember?"
The Earliest days of WTTW Television

Curator's note: This video by Rich Samuels first aired on August 25, 2005 as part of WTTW's celebration of its 50th anniversary. It documents WTTW's earliest days as an "educational" television station where much of the broadcast day was devoted to instructional programming and where "entertainment" of the audience was a secondary consideration. Included in this half-hour broadcast are Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley, Joe Kelly (host of the "Totem Club"), Jim Robertson, Mary Lou Mockus, Don Herbert, Rudolph Ganz, Edward Rosenheim, Knox Hill, Allan Arkin, Severn Darden, Barbara Harris, Mina Kolb, Paul Sand Eugene Troobnick, Ramsey Lewis, Sid McCoy, Gwendolyn Brooks, Edward Ryerson and Ella Jenkins.
