1949

]

On its first visit to the state, 30,000 Texans give Breakfast Club a tiotous welcome in Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio and Houston. Bernie Christianson, the 11-year old Chicago vocalist, made the trip after Don discovered him in the audience one morning. In September, the late Frank Buck helped "bring back alive" a mouse which had been running wild in the studio. The STPOFFTGBPTCWB held a meeting on Breakfast Club's 16th anniversary. It was formed by Don, a Christmas week baby, as a "society to Prevent One From Forgetting To Give Birthday Presents To Christmas Week Babies." More than 900 persons sent or brought $4000 worth of gifts to the studio. All were turned over to the Salvation Army. Johnny Desmond succeeded Jack Owens on July 25th.

Left: Col. Robert Haggard of the Salvation Army accepted the birthday gifts Don McNeill received from Breakfast Clubbers.

Right: Johnny Desmond brought two fine young ladies, Dianaa and Patricia, the the Breakfast Club family.
